Because 100 Celsius degrees cover the same span as 180 Fahrenheit degrees, you first stretch the Celsius value by 9/5, then add Fahrenheit's 32-degree offset so both scales agree at the freezing point of water.
A European recipe calls for a 200°C oven. Multiply by 1.8 to get 360, then add 32: 360 + 32 = 392°F, so set a US oven to about 390–400°F.
Double the Celsius value and add 30: (°C × 2) + 30. A 25°C afternoon is about (25 × 2) + 30 = 80°F, close to the exact 77°F.

Multiply by 9/5 (1.8), then add 32. For example, 20°C: 20 × 1.8 + 32 = 68°F.
37°C equals 98.6°F, the classic normal body temperature.
Double the Celsius value and add 30. For 20°C, 20 × 2 + 30 = 70°F, close to the exact 68°F.
180°C equals 356°F, usually rounded to a 350°F oven setting.
40°C equals 104°F, which signals a high fever or a very hot day.
At −40°: −40°C equals −40°F. It is the single crossover point of the two scales.
